Tourism Tasmania was established as a statutory authority in 1997. Since 1998, it has been part of a wider department now known as the Department of Tourism Arts and the Environment. The Department brings together many of the assets which make Tasmania unique: our environment, our natural and cultural icons, and our creative and vibrant people.
